How to Open the Device Manager as Admin Open Task Manager, click Run new task, type devmgmt.msc in the box, select Create this task with administrative privileges. Open Powershell with admin rights, type the following, and hit Enter: start "C:WindowsSystem32devmgmt.msc" Run Command Prompt as administrator, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter. Open File Explorer, navigate to C:\Windows\System32, locate devmgmt.msc, right-click on it and select Run as administrator. Click Start and search for Command Prompt. Right-click it and choose "Run as administrator". When command prompt appears, type the following: devmgmt.msc. Then press Enter, and Device Manager should appear as an administrator, since you were using command prompt as administrator. 1) Open File Explorer. 2) Navigate to C:\Windows\System32. 3) Locate devmgmt.msc. Right-click on it and select Run as administrator. Then the Device Manager will open as admin.
