WEBJun 23, 2023 · If \( S = \{ s_1, s_2, \ldots, s_n \} \) is a simple sample space and \(A\) is any event in \(S\) such that \( |A| = m \), then \[ P(A) = \frac{m}{n} = \frac{|A|}{|S|} \] Proof Since \( |A| = m \) then \(A\) has the following form \( A = \{ s_{i_{1}}, s_{i_{2}}, \ldots, s_{i_{m}} \} \).
